Classical music group - Quartets, Quintets, duets, solos.... you name it. Anything regarded as classical music smaller than an orchestra.

Broadcast Projects

Started in the fall of 2005, WKAR Public Radio (90.5 FM) airs recordings of faculty and School of Music performances. Concerts are chosen ahead of time by WKAR and then I engineer the concert from setup to mastering. For faculty and guest artist concerts I select and place microphones on stage and use the higher-end gear.

Surround

Recordings I have taken from existing multitracks and re-mixed in Protools or Pyramix or were recorded with a surround rig.

thoughts

After three years of a rock solid Digi002, TODAY was the day it decided to freak out on me.  Two trips back to the office, three different computers and countless restarting I dragged the MX 24-track to record just 6.  Long day.  The concert went smoothly, but I was not able listen to playback because of how the MX2424 is setup (unless I bring more equipment).  The bits I did hear were smoother than anticipated [yes, I said "smoother" and "B&K" Travis and Jason].  The choice for mains was a tricky one, so I brought others as backups.  With previous experience with omnis, I choose carefully and with experience I have under my belt (I’ll leave the "why" to your ears).
