Choir

Choral music tends to be my favorite type of music to record and listen to. There are many varying techniques depending on the room acoustics, group talent, and musical choices....I enjoy the challenge.

M.S.U. Chorale

The 50-member Chorale performs a concert once a semester. I love the genre of music, though tend to be the simplest. In general I use a spaced pair in the hall the group normally performs at. In April of 2006 the Chorale performed the Durufle's Requiem which I consider one of my favorite recordings.

thoughts

The mics were used by themselves in a very specific spacing set.  I picked the microphones because they have a nice high end and work well at a longer distance.  However they tend to rival others, and usually I never can decide until the day of.  Spacing was perfect in this concert, and I was very pleased.  Also MSU Chorale sang much better in this concert than in past, as far as quanity of blending.  They also stood mixed, which helps as well.
