Chamber
Classical music group - Quartets, Quintets, duets, solos.... you name it. Anything regarded as classical music smaller than an orchestra.
Smaller Sessions
One of my most successful practices is recording sessions for pre-screening and auditions discs. The sessions are done on-site, usually at Okemos Community Church on the east side of Lansing, Michigan, however many have been done at Haslett High School and many of the venues at the School of Music at Michigan State University.
Recordings have gotten singers into most major music schools in the nation from Julliard to Northwestern. They also win competitions, most notably the Verdi Opera Competition in Detroit, Michigan. There has never been a problem with one of my recordings getting a singer into a school, and the feedback I get from schools on the discs is wonderful.
Ensembles & Recitals
Concert recordings intended for archive, broadcast or other use. Projects range from simple live-to-2 track with a stereo pair, to larger multitrack projects with some being taken through mastering and duplication.

Special project using the 002 and about 5 mics during the concert and recording session following. Part of a fundraiser for Waverly High School involving dinner, concert and CD. The CD part is where I come in with some crazy editing, long hours at the church in Lansing and some very quick cover designs. Why not right? Three weeks ‘til my wedding, last day of college… Sure, I’ll spend 5 hours with a handful of unfocused high schoolers. As anticipated, there was a very short turn around time push, with editing the next day and cover design following for a submitted order the night after the concert. This made the project cost about twice as much than if there were another 3-5 days, but parents were told of a week turn-around time…. crazy? Yes. The recording actually came out pretty well though. I have a few tricks I’d try out again, even with using some Sennheisers up close.
