Chamber
Classical music group - Quartets, Quintets, duets, solos.... you name it. Anything regarded as classical music smaller than an orchestra.
Smaller Sessions
One of my most successful practices is recording sessions for pre-screening and auditions discs. The sessions are done on-site, usually at Okemos Community Church on the east side of Lansing, Michigan, however many have been done at Haslett High School and many of the venues at the School of Music at Michigan State University.
Recordings have gotten singers into most major music schools in the nation from Julliard to Northwestern. They also win competitions, most notably the Verdi Opera Competition in Detroit, Michigan. There has never been a problem with one of my recordings getting a singer into a school, and the feedback I get from schools on the discs is wonderful.
thoughts
6 students in 4 hours on this Thursday afternoon in February. The Verdi Opera Competition is hosted in Detroit every year, and they base the first round off of CD submissions…. so it’s very important to hire the right engineer.
