Chamber

Classical music group - Quartets, Quintets, duets, solos.... you name it. Anything regarded as classical music smaller than an orchestra.

Ensembles & Recitals

Concert recordings intended for archive, broadcast or other use. Projects range from simple live-to-2 track with a stereo pair, to larger multitrack projects with some being taken through mastering and duplication.

thoughts

This required grad recital was the perfect chance to practice mic'ing percussion. As this is my own native instrument, it's expected that I'm really good at making every instrument sound good. The Pearls were used as mains in ORTF, with various stereo high-lights on each instrument. What sounded amazing was the last Caribbean piece with steel drums and marimba using only the Pearls and TLM193 high-lights. [See clip]
