Choir

Choral music tends to be my favorite type of music to record and listen to. There are many varying techniques depending on the room acoustics, group talent, and musical choices....I enjoy the challenge.

M.S.U. Chorale

The 50-member Chorale performs a concert once a semester. I love the genre of music, though tend to be the simplest. In general I use a spaced pair in the hall the group normally performs at. In April of 2006 the Chorale performed the Durufle's Requiem which I consider one of my favorite recordings.

thoughts

This concert was amazing. Great performance by the Chorale, and everything just clicked with regards to the recording. Durufle’s Requiem was the highlight of the second half. It’s a piece with small/chamber orchestra. I think Durufle had recording engineers in mind when composing his requiem.
