Two Gershwin pieces and a Bernstein… I’d title the program “bad memories from high school” Actually this was a great concert and Ralph is an amazing pianist, especially with Gershwin. It just fits his style, and I love how he floats on the high notes of the piano. My recordings turn into budda.
The Milestone: I hung the M150’s! They are pictured quite a bit higher than the concert.
Music:
George Gershwin - Overture to “Girl Crazy”
George Gershwin - Concert in F for Piano and Orchestra
Schumann - New England Triptych
Bernstein - Symphonic Dances from West Side Story
The audio clip is of the Schumann 2nd mv. This section really demonstrates why I love the M150’s on strings groups… its very clear why they’re used in film scoring (the M50’s at least).
